Honorable Mention winner in 1998's John Lennon Songwriting Contest
Tisa and I just happened to write this before the Oklahoma bombing, a song that a Mom sings to her little baby after the Father dies. When the Federal building was bombed, the song seemed to have so much more meaning to it. "Daddy Had To Go To Heaven" also won an Honorable Mention in the Country category in 1998's John Lennon Songwriting Contest. military graves in emmitsburg, maryland

DADDY HAD TO GO TO HEAVEN

chorus	Baby, DADDY HAD TO GO TO HEAVEN
Baby, DADDY HAD TO GO TO HEAVEN

He had eyes that were kind,
He had hopes that you could dream your own dreams.
He had hands of a man
To pick you up when you'd fall
He would hold you, all night long

DADDY HAD TO GO TO HEAVEN
Baby, DADDY HAD TO GO TO HEAVEN

His love and his laugh
His eyes and the way he smiled is pictured in you
He stood tall in the dark
He was strong (I'm so frail)
He kissed me, the last time he said goodnight, goodnight...

bridge Fork in the road
			Twisted figures of fate
			Pushed him into the wind....

He walks side by side with the sun and the stars and the moon
If you stay very still
You just might feel him kiss you
Goodnight, goodnight...

Baby, DADDY HAD TO GO TO HEAVEN
Baby, DADDY HAD TO GO TO HEAVEN
Baby, DADDY HAD TO GO TO HEAVEN
Baby, DADDY HAD TO GO TO HEAVEN
